Watoto Pamoja

Nurturing young minds and fostering community belonging among children in Mathare.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Watoto Paamoja is a child protection initiative dedicated to creating safe, nurturing, and violence-free homes, schools, and communities where children and adolescents can grow, thrive, and realize their full potential in Korogocho Slums, Nairobi County. Through community-driven approaches, the initiative works to prevent violence, strengthen child protection systems, and empower families and communities to safeguard the well-being of every child.

Violence against children includes all forms of physical, emotional, psychological, and sexual abuse, as well as neglect and negligent treatment that cause, or have the potential to cause, harm to a child’s or adolescent’s health, survival, development, or dignity. For this initiative, children are defined as individuals below the age of 18 years.
