Metrine is a young woman that has been raised in the Mathare Constituency.Popularly she is known as “MET”.She loves her community and realized this urge after her first engagement with a USAID program on ‘Abstinence Campaign’ for Primary schools.
She understands the challenges and all the good times within her community..Currently She is actively involved with PAAMOJA INITIATIVE as a Monitoring and Evaluation specialist.She basically ensures that the Team’s projects are working towards achieving the main goal of transforming the young lives in Mathare .She outlines timelines for monitoring of these projects which eventually gives the picture of how far projects have reached to achieve their goal.Her passion for writing has placed her at the need for drafting frequent reports that enable the team to stay afloat.
Metrine has previously worked with HOPE WORLDWIDE KENYA as a Mentor for adolescent girls and young women.The main aim was to empower and enlighten the society through this group to see transformation in the society that we live in.She was involved in writing success stories emerging from this engagements as well.
Her love and passion for the community has made her do blogs that touch on the daily struggles of the youth within the country in her minilog dabbed: www.metwritings.wordpress.com.She hopes to one day have an actively working blog to share her life stories.
She has a Certificate training on Social Assets Building that equips her with skills of engaging with the community and involved activities.She also has a Bachelor's degree in Statistics and Computer science.
She has a strong belief that the societal changes that we expect to see start with one individual.On her free time she is blogging,reading a historical/fiction book,traveling or hanging with her closest people.
